The meaning of this project is that Korean Government has will to develop not only geospatial field but also opensource GIS for the future. This definitely helps to make good Opensource GIS eco system in South Korea.
Some of OSGeo Korean Chapter members participated to plan this R&S project from the very beginning and they think this will bring great opportunites to Opensource GIS companies in South Korea. Also, since FOSS4G 2015 event will be taking place in Seoul in 2015, this R&D project and FOSS4G 2015 event will play great role in Opensource GIS field in South Korea.
